Founder and Owner, Abby Ripberger believes a successful restaurant is more than just good food, it’s about fostering connections within their communities through the food they make.

Tell us about The Love Bug
The Love Bug is a homestyle comfort food concept that began as a beloved food truck and has since grown into a brick-and-mortar. Known for scratch-made sandwiches, salads, and soups, we've built a loyal following and are now eager to bring our offerings to the Indianapolis community. Whenever possible, The Love Bug partners with local farmers and bakers to ensure every dish is made with the freshest ingredients and the highest quality.
How did your journey begin?
I needed to stay at home with my son, who was going through therapy several times a week. My community was always there for me through the times I needed them most and I promised I would one day give it all back.
My decision on how I was going to give it back was to do the thing I knew how to do best: bring people together with food. The Love Bug was a way to show up for the people who showed up for me and my family.
Genuinely, I just want to make really delicious food in a space that is about being together and sharing in what makes us humans.
what makes your business unique?
The Love Bug is rooted in feeling. We care deeply about how people experience our space, from the food to the way they’re greeted at the counter.
There’s intention behind everything we do, and that shows up in the details, the atmosphere and the loyalty of our customers.
